Superb Flautist Latteta is a one Woman Band

Latteta, in a manner reminiscent of the late Rahsaan Roland Kirk, has also mastered the technique of humming along as she blows, adding an intriguing harmony to her solos. This was done exquisitely on Tracy Chapman's "Baby Can't I Hold You Tonight", with Latteta weaving bouncy Bachian riffs in and around this catchy melody. "Tomorrow", from "Annie" was embellished in similar fashion, only this time snatches of popular show tunes and bluesy ripples cascaded from the flute.

BERLINER MORGAN POST

Solo for a Musicians Life

Latteta manages the impossible. In her latest appearance at the Quasimodo, Even the  bar was deathly quiet.

U.S. CADENCE MAGAZINE

"...she plays solo with an intensity that is light years removed from any act of vanity."

New York

Latteta's solo career has taken her to stages and nightclubs throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. Always more than "just a performer", Latteta's "joie de vivre" has endeared her as Music Doctor to thousands of her fans. She has graced the stage of many other performers, among them: Patti LaBelle, Sheila "E", Roberta Flack, and Dave Valentine just to name a few.

Musical Performance

This part of the program is combined with the workshop.

Duration: One hour

Performers: One

Rates: For rate information email latteta@latteta.com

Relaxation Workshop

  1. Participants will be invited to listen to the music with eyes open or closed, seated in a comfortable position.

  2. Participants will be given instructions to listen to the music, visualizing themselves in a scene of beauty. They may select a place of extraordinary beauty and serenity, or a familiar place.

  3. Participants will be instructed to allow the music's natural flow and rhythm transport them to this place of beauty and calm.

  4. Each musical offering will dictate to every individual an entirely unique experience.

  5. At the end of each musical piece participants will be encouraged to share their visualized experience with the rest of the group. After sharing or while waiting his/her turn to share, the writing down of words phrases, sentences or sketches are ways to remember each experience. These tools will greatly aid each person in reconstructing their total relaxation experience through the media of poetry, drawing, collage, watercolor story, a melody, song or any combination. Participants will be assisted with their project(s) as time allows. They will be encouraged not to rush through the activity. Their project may be extended beyond the workshop time frame, continuing the creative process at any time.

Suggested Materials for Workshop

  1. Several sheets of lined paper or note pad, pencils, pens for each participant.

  2. A variety of colored pencils, markers, and crayon
